Le0pard Racing completes the Indonesian Grand Prix with a very difficult race from which we took a very positive outcome as Jaume Masià crossed the finish line in 6th position extending his lead in the Championship, while a crash prevented Adrián Fernández from finishing the race:
Another day dawned under Mandalika’s sunny skies, with the high temperatures playing a starring role for yet another day.
Le0pard Racing started today’s race at the Indonesian Grand Prix from the 2nd spot on the grid with Jaume Masià and from the 14th in the fifth row with Adrián Fernández.
Lights went out and the action began. From the first row of the grid, Jaume Masià had a difficult start to the race, dropping down to 5th, recovering the positions soon to start fighting within the podium places.
For his part, Adrián Fernández also struggle on the start, losing some positions to sit in 16th during the early stages of the race.
Jaume Masià continued battling inside a very crowed leading group, where the overtaking didn’t stop for a minute. The Spaniard pushed harder as the laps went by, reaching the top for the first time halfway through the race, but being overtaken again soon after.
In the meantime, Adrián Fernández was trying to recover the positions he lost, but a crash when it was 11 laps to go stopped him from doing so. The Spaniard was quickly back on his feet and returned to the pits.
The battle was still raging at the front as the race drew to a close, with Jaume Masià fighting tooth and nail to take the lead. From 3rd position, when the leading rider had to serve a Long Lap Penalty, the Spaniard moved up to the top, leading for the next 3 laps, but losing it in a tricky finish to the race, crossing the finish line in 6th position at the end to take some very important points.
After this frenetic race and a well-managed result, Jaume Masià maintains the Riders’ Championship lead, now with a 16-point advantage.
