The 14th round of the season has arrived! The Japanese Grand Prix has gotten underway today around the corners of Motegi, with Le0pard Racing finishing the first day of action on top with Jaume Masià, while Tatsuki Suzuki sits in 14th place on home soil. Let’s analyse everything that happened today:
Friday kicked off at the Japanese Grand Prix with great conditions on track, warm temperatures and slightly overcast but sunny skies.
Both Le0pard riders Jaume Masià and Tatsuki Suzuki went out on track for Practice 1 in the morning at Motegi.
The Spaniard improved lap by lap throughout the session, topping the timesheets several times, but finishing Practice 1 in 3rd position with a time of 1’57.495.
For his part, Tatsuki Suzuki had an issue at the beginning of the session, which the team immediately fixed so that he could continue running. The Japanese finished the morning at home in 12th position with a time of 1’58.323.
The time came for Practice 2 later in the day, with a crucial session ahead for the riders in order to set a faster time in view of the threat of rain for tomorrow. With that in mind, both Le0pard riders took to the track in search of their Q2 seats for Saturday.
Although it took him some laps to start improving his lap time, Jaume Masià put in a strong Practice 2. On his final run, the Spaniard lowered his time to start running within the 1’57 bracket, setting a conclusive 1’57.068 on a last flying lap to top Friday’s timesheets once again.
On the other hand, Tatsuki Suzuki struggled a bit more in comparison, but was able to improve his feeling during the afternoon, finishing the day in 14th place on the combined with a time of 1’57.676.
Will it rain tomorrow? We will see, but Le0pard Racing is ready to face whatever comes on qualifying day!
